Major: I studied Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Educational Goals: I believe teachers are one of the most influential people in a child's a life, so it is important for teachers to be a role model and inspiring to students. As a teacher, I will make it my goal to teach my students to be inspired and engaged in learning. I will educate my students to ensure them a prosperous future. In addition, I myself will learn. I will learn how my students learn and the best way to teach them. Along with learning is adapting to new styles of teaching to accommodate to all my students learning styles. Philosophy of Education: The reason for being a teacher is to teach, and in order for all my students to learn, a variety of learning styles should be offered so all students feel comfortable and are successful when it comes to learning. In order to assure every student is learning to their best ability, I will adjust the pace of teaching to the pace of my students learning. It is important to be enthusiastic about learning. As a teacher, I will make sure I make learning exciting for my students, by being excited about teaching. It is also important for me to set expectations for my students, so they are challenged to do their best and to exceed expectations. Teaching Experience: I have volunteered in numerous classrooms throughout my college career. One of the schools I volunteered for was Lakeshore Elementary School in Fond du Lac, WI. While at this school, I volunteered in a fifth grade, second grade, kindergarten and an educational behavior disability classroom. I worked with individual students on assignments for math, science, reading and history. I feel that volunteering in a classroom gives me more of a sense of teaching than sitting in a classroom learning about teaching. I learn best by observing exceptional teaching skills, rather than someone tell me what those skills are.
