y name is Mr. Leighton and I will be your teacher for the upcoming year. I am very excited to meet everyone and want to let you know who I am. I grew up in Oceanside and went to college at UCSD, in La Jolla. I have worked as an engineer and a pilot but I am most happy teaching. When Im not teaching, I enjoy surfing, hiking, and playing sports. My classes are always full of fun, and we will enjoy learning in different ways.

n September 26, we will be going on a trip to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. The center is an amazing experience for everyone. We will be bused there and your parents are welcome to join us. Leading up to the trip we will discuss things that we will see, but please remember to bring the following items: Signed permission slip Lunch Camera (for those photo journals!!!, one will also be available if you forget)
