BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING UWEX MAY 14, 2012 6:30 PM CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order by Bob Martini, Pres. PRESENT: Bob Martini, Norris Ross, Bob Williams, Jean Roach, Michele Sadauskas, Tom Rudolph, Bob Mott, Connie Anderson, Kathy Noel, Bill Jaeger MINUTES: Minutes of April 16, 2012 meeting approved. TREASURERS REPORT: None STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: Communications: None Newsletter/Website: Norris Ross reports that the person being considered as a possible webmaster is not available. Chuck Faber has prepared the newsletter and annual meeting notice. County Board Update: Tom Rudolph reports Erica Brewster is the new UWEX agent. There are many staffing concerns due to budget constraints. A new public hearing is to be scheduled regarding the formation of Lake Nokomis Lake District. A public hearing is also to be scheduled regarding exploratory mining in the town of Lynn. Norris Ross reports on Planning and Development (formerly known as Planning & Zoning) Committee continues to work on update of Shoreland Protection Ordinance to bring it into compliance with NR115. OLD BUSINESS: Annual Meeting: Bob Martini asked for volunteers to speak about Early Detection of AIS, Lake Monitoring Teams: Identification, Training & Implementation. Recognition of Service: Bob Martini will send Chuck Faber a card and note expressing our appreciation for his many contributions to OCLRA. NEW BUSINESS: Nominations: Terms expiring: Stephanie Boismenue, Chuck Faber, Bob Williams. Faber and Williams will not be running for office. Slate of candidates will be Stephanie Boismenue and Kathy Noel. OTHER: Bob Mott reported on a mining information meeting in Amherst. Annual Meeting notices were prepared for mailing by Chuck Faber.
