DEFINITION
The

worlds largest computer network which connects millions of computer all over the world. Many organizations - private as well as the government agencies , educational institutions are connected to the internet.

Since When?
1969 Jabatan Pertahanan Amerika Syarikat Not safe because of the war with Soviet Block. they want a strategic military computer network that

connects the two main computers, which are used for research purposes.

 Earliest network called ARPAnet connects

four locations, namely Stanford University, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and University of Utah. The network is then expanded by connecting many other universities.

Who Controls???
No personnel or the highest body in charge

take care of the daily operations of the Internet. Each network connected to the internet administered by the local network administrator ethical and value respectively.

How the internet operates?

Computers on the Internet communicate

with each other using a standard language or protocol called TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internetworking Protocol). It assume to be an agreement or order means information is sent and received so that all can understand it with the same meaning.

Information overload No librarians for quality control ( with some

exceptions, like Kids Click! & other sites for children) Need for quality control in the data that student find and use. Search engine that show result base on who pays the most. Not enough training for effective use. Push to upgrade constantly
