Because Rule 1.06(b) of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and article 2.08 of the Code of Criminal Procedure prohibit you from investigating such a complaint and from prosecuting yourself for the commission of such an offense, I am, pursuant to the provisions of article 2.07 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, hereby requesting that you ask the Honorable Julie Kocurek, presiding judge of the district courts of Travis County with criminal jurisdiction, to permit you to recuse yourself for good cause so that she may appoint an attorney pro tem to perform the duties of your office with respect to the investigation and prosecution of the aforesaid complaint.
