Both stormwater and oodplain management are dynamic elds that are constantly expanding, particularly with regard to regulations and computational techniques. The NJAES Ofce of Continuing Professional Education has teamed up with Joseph Skupien, one of the Go to Guys in both elds in New Jersey, to offer two classes that will help you learn what you need to know. Mr. Skupien is president of Stormwater Management Consulting, LLC. During his 38-year career, he has participated in the design and construction of hundreds of stormwater facilities. In addition, Joe regularly teaches stormwater and oodplain management programs for state and local government agencies. Attendees of these programs will benet from his theoretical knowledge, real-world experience and excellent teaching skills.

Whether you are a lake manager or a lake resident, an ecologist or an engineer, this popular two-day course is for you. From small ponds to large lakes, drinking water reservoirs to shing lakes, if you want your lake and watershed management efforts to be successful you need a technically sound foundation. This course will give you the training needed to properly investigate and diagnose lake quality problems and to develop and implement cost-effective restoration measures Learn how to evaluate what is needed to properly protect, manage and restore your pond, lake or reservoir. Professionals will guide you through the benets and pitfalls of all of the most commonly implemented lake and pond management measures. The new, interactive nature of the course will provide attendees with the opportunity to discuss the specic issues and problems impacting the condition of their waterbody. The course also provides for hands-on problem solving and the in-class application of the featured course topics. Dr. Stephen Souza, President of Princeton Hydro, LLC. has over 20 years of experience managing and restoring lakes, including extensive work with lake associations. His instructional team will provide an additional 35 years of combined expertise!

DAY 1 will begin with a review of the programs theoretical basics, modeling
capabilities, and limitations, and will continue with an explanation of program and project start-up, data input, and the various forms of output reporting. The day concludes with analysis of an example problem that will highlight such modeling decisions as cross section location and alignment, loss coefcient selection, and oodway determination.
