A body orifice is any external opening in the body of an animal. In a typical
mammalian body such as the human body, the body orifices are:
• The nostrils, for breathing and the associated sense of smell.
• The eyes, for the sense of sight and crying.
• The mouth, for eating, breathing, and vocalizations such as speech.
• The ear canals, for the sense of hearing.
• The anus, for defecation.
• The urethra, for urination, and, in males, ejaculation.
• In females, the vagina, for sexual intercourse, menstruation and childbirth.
• Orifices of nipples
• Orifices of sweat glands
• Navel or belly button left over from placental mammals after birth.

discussion
There is as much diversity in the srotas, as there is in the elements that compose the
structure of the body; considering this the number of srotas becomes innumerable.

Atreya clearly states that Srotas are not every thing !
Atreya is seen to have, however, pointed out that this view is an exaggerated one and ,
drew attention to factors other than srotas which are equally important. These
factors are: the elements that compose the srotas, the substances they transport;
the dhatus to which they serve as channels of transport and , the regions of the body
which they cover.
