INTRODUCTION The Earth FADES IN on a starry background. The title 'The World of' Also FADES IN as the world revolves and the stars wink. SPLAT The BLOBFISH drops in and squashes the Earth while the second half of the title appears 'Weird Wildlife' EXT. SCENE 1-BLOBFISH With a pop, the titles disappear and the BLOBFISH falls into water with a splash. Deep sea ambience is established. The camera TRACKING its rapid descent. The BLOBFISH hits the ocean floor with a thump and a cloud of dust before floating out of shot. BLOBFISH Bleugh A new BLOBFISH floats/swims into view as captions appear CAPTION The BLOBFISH Fact1. The BLOBFISH can grow up to 30cm long A children's 30cm Ruler slides in to view for clarity and slides away again. CAPTION Fact 2. They can weigh up to 9.5 Kilograms Suddenly nine and a half bags of sugar drop in and crush the BLOBFISH BLOBFISH (Muffled pained noise) CAPTION That's nine and a half bags of sugar. Focus on a new BLOBFISH that floats into view at the bottom of the screen. A pair of seaweed leaves in the shape of Australia and Tasmania float down and bob for a bit. CAPTION Fact 3. The BLOBFISH lives around (MORE)

2 CAPTION (CONT'D) the coast of Australia and Tasmania. Fact4. Its a deep sea fish, living around 3000ft underwater. BLOBFISH is crushed by Big Ben and the leaf maps scatter. BLOBFISH (Pained strained voice)Not again! ZOOM OUT to see the depth of the sea and 10 Big Ben's stacked end on end till half sticks out of the surface. CAPTION That's nine and a half times the size of Big Ben The Tower clocks disappear and a new BLOBFISH drops into the water, swims down a little and starts to feed on crabs and sea pens CAPTION Fact 5. BLOBFISH are almost jelly like, unlike goldfish. But that is so they don't get squashed by the weight of the entire ocean A goldfish drops into the water and is immediately flattened. BLOBFISH (Slightly evil chuckle) Hehehe CAPTION Fact 6.They sometimes get caught by deep sea fishing nets The BLOBFISH is caught up in a nets and sighs EXT. SCENE 2- AXOLOTL The BLOBFISH disapates, turning into rocks and plant life. The background becomes a mottled brownish green. Running stream ambience replaces the deep sea. A hyperactive AXOLOTL swims in. CAPTION The AXOLOTL (axe- uh-lottle) Fact1 AXOLOTLS weigh up to two hundred and twenty seven grams. That's less than a Beanie Baby A TY Beanie baby drops in and comes to rest beside the AXOLOTL, who nuzzles it for a second PURRING slightly. The

AXOLOTL swims behind a large rock in the foreground. CAPTION Fact2. The wild AXOLOTL lives in just one lake in the whole world Lake Xochimilco, in Mexico. The algae on the rock is in the shape of Mexico, a splodge of different colour algae forms the lake. AXOLOTL (Repeats) Lake Xochimilco! The AXOLOTL swims out from behind the rock again. CAPTION Fact 3.AXOLTOLS are like Frogs. They are amphibians A tadpole swims by, followed by one with legs much like the AXOLOTL. Finally a frog swims by. CAPTION Fact4. AXOLOTLS never grow up into the land creature, they are forever tadpoles. AXOLOTL shrugs making an 'oh well' kind of sound and swims on. CAPTION Fact5. AXOLOTLS are sometimes eaten in Mexico THE AXOLOTL dodges some knives and forks that drop into the water. CAPTION Only if they manage to avoid the fish first. A giant Fish zips in and appears to gobble the AXOLOTL. The fish swims on and the AXOLOTL reappears from behind a rock. AXOLOTL Phew! AXOLOTL shape disapates. The background pans upward. The colours becoming a richer green and tree trunks materializing. EXT. SCENE 3- PROBOSCIS MONKEY At the top of the tree's sit three monkey's with tails

swinging and twitching, while scratching their bodies. CAPTION The PROBOSCIS MONKEY Fact1. They are one of the largest monkeys in Asia, but only stand about two and a half feet tall. A Monkey dangles from a branch. An explorer scrambles up to dangle beside him for size clarity. The monkey pokes the explorer in the armpit, who falls with a cry. EXPLORER (Long Yell) AH! CAPTION Fact 2. These Monkeys like to eat only fruit that is unripe One of the background monkeys picks off a green fruit and starts eating. The others do the same. One throws the remaining fruit, knocking a monkey off his branch with a cry. The remaining monkey throws fruit at the screen. Debris splattering everywhere, CAPTION Fact 3. The PROBOSCIS MONKEY can only be found in Borneo, Indonesia The debris looks like a map of the Indonesian islands. Shortly before sliding off-screen. One of the monkey's sits normally in a tree while the other dangles from its tail. CAPTION Fact4. Male PROBOSCIS MONKEY'S have overlarge noses that help them to call to one another by making loud honk noises. One PROBOSCIS MONKEY takes hold of its nose making a few honks. The second takes his nose and plays a ridiculous tune. CAPTION Fact 5. Much of the PROBOSCIS MONKEY habitat is being cut down giving them less space to live in Noise of a chainsaw can be heard and one of the tree's with a monkey in it topples over. The remaining monkey in its tree looks shocked.

PROBOSCIS MONKEY Oops! The PROBOSCIS MONKEY disapates, the tail morphing into a pylon. The colours change to a rocky outdoor setting. EXT. SCENE 4- CALIFORNIA CONDOR Camera Pans left to reveal a CALIFORNIA CONDOR on the rocky desert floor CAPTION The CALIFORNIA CONDOR CAPTION Fact. 1 The CALIFORNIA CONDOR can live up to sixty years CAPTION Fact. 2 They stand about 4.5 feet tall and have a wingspan of around 10 feet! A generic 6ft man walks into the scene to stand alongside the condor. He is then silhouetted and turned sideways across the wingspan of the CONDOR as it spreads its wings. The silhouette FADES OUT after a short pause. CAPTION Fact 3. The CALIFORNIA CONDOR can weigh up to 14 kg (thats around the same weight as a three year old boy) A little boy drops in and lands on a set of scales that conveniently pop up. The CONDOR rolls its eyes with a sigh. The boy FADES OUT CAPTION Fact 4. CALIFORNIA CONDORS are scavenger birds, much like vultures. They will eat anything from the dead bodies of deers and sheep to donkeys to bears The CONDOR starts to daydream, with a thought bubble containing the faces of each of the beasts, before licking its beak CALIFORNIA CONDOR Nom nom nom CAPTION Fact 5. Sometimes these birds (MORE)

6 CAPTION (CONT'D) aren't too clever and hurt themselves by accidentally flying into power lines. A CONDOR in the background can be seen flying, hits the powercables with a squawk and falls to the floor with the thud. The other CONDOR groans in frustration. CALIFORNIA CONDOR Ughhhh The scene and CONDOR disapates, darkening and turning into luscious greens. EXT. SCENE 5- AYE AYE The CONDOR body turns and morphs into the head of the AYE AYE. The AYE AYE opens its bright yellow eyes and the rest of its body starts to FADE IN from the green, clinging to a tree branch. CAPTION The AYE AYE CAPTION Fact 1. The AYE AYE has a tail that is 60cm long. That's longer than its body which is only 40cm long 2 school kid rulers slide into view to show the tail length before the tail twitches and the ruler vanishes. CAPTION Fact 2. They weigh only 2kg. (That's two bags of sugar) Two sugar bags drop and land with a heavy thud on another branch. The AYE AYE'S eyes get larger. CAPTION Fact 3. The AYE AYE can only be found in Madagascar. An Island off South Africa. The AYE AYE, looking distracted, starts to pick its nose with its very long middle finger. CAPTION Fact 4. The AYE AYE has one enormously long middle finger so it can dig insects out of holes in trees The AYE AYE suddenly realizes its being watched, giggles

nervously and starts digging for insects instead. CAPTION Fact 5. The AYE AYE is believed to be a bad luck sign by some people of Madagascar. A hunter climbs a tree in the background and sees the AYE AYE. He gasps and falls to his death. The AYE AYE chuckles. The scene FADES TO BLACK OUTTRO All the creatures that have featured appear. The BLOBFISH and AXOLOTLS each appear in a fish Bowl. The rest stand in a line up, in relative size to each other. CAPTION The most important fact of all. Is that all of these animals are endangered. FADE TO BLACK
