This week we are learning:


Circle Time Review
This week we are going to look at the names of our clothes. Vocabulary includes: shirt, skirt, jacket, sandals, boots, hat, gloves, socks, pants, shorts, dress, tie. We are also going to review the use of a/an using our vowels. Vocabulary includes: this is a/an (object). Lastly, we are going to keep doing our morning Mathematics.

English

Vocabulary: Doctor, bandage, stethoscope, injection, headache, stomachache, cough, toothache, measels, thermometre, sore throat, medicine, microscope, runny nose, fracture Sentence structure: Question: What is wrong/ the matter? Response: I have a headache/cough. Question: What tools does a doctor use and for what? Response: A doctor uses a (stethoscope) to (listen to your heart). Activities: We are going to colour in an ill teddy bear using different colours for certain numbers. We are going to match the doctor's tools to the body part it is used for. We are going to name the doctor's tools and then colour them in. We are going to look at different pictures of illnesses and then match the correct word of the illness. Songs: We are going to watch a video about the adventure of Topsy and Tim (going to the doctor). Each student will get a chance to draw a word and act it out while his or her teammates have to guess what illness or doctor's tool is being represented.

Maths We are now going to use addition and subtraction in order to find the missing number. Example: I have 4 candies, I want to have 10. How many candies do I need more? We are going to play 'fastest boy or girl' using the above mentioned Mathematics.

Science We are going to learn about basic materials. We are going to look at different objects and say what material it is made of. We are going to look at rubber, plastic, glass, wood and metal.

Grammar This week we are going to learn about using 'this' or 'that' in certain contexts as there wasn't time to do this lesson in week 15. This=close by, that=pointing. Example: this is a pen, but that is a swimmingpool. English We are going to complete a crossword using pictures about different weather types.
