NATURE & EXTENT OF INSP. / TEST Visual, 100% ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA Use of flux - IM1 YORKSHIRE / Boss White Green / Approved make - Tubes and fittings to be cleaned thoroughly prior to application of flux - Apply flux with a clean stiff brush - Flux should never be applied without the use of proper gloves Soldering Wire - IM1 YORKSHIRE / approved Lead free solder to be used - Armaflex / approved tubes to be used - Insulated pipes to give clearances as follows, between the adjacent surfaces: Walls: 25 mm Ceiling: 100 mm Finished Floors: 150 mm Adjacent Pipes: 100 mm (both insulated) Adjacent Pipes: 75 mm (only one insulated) Insulated Pipes: 100 mm (adjacent pipes / trunking) Adjacent electrical 100 mm cable: (not in conduiting or trunking)

CRITERIA AT LOCATION - Pipe to be protected with Engineer/ approved PVC tapes when Foremen/ concealed in blockwork Quality Engineer - Tape should be wound uniformly in spiral form with sufficient overlap - Tape winding should be continued for another 10 cms. beyond the blockwork to protect it from concrete / mortar Drawings Visual, 100% - Pipe bending at site not permitted Engineer/ Contract Specs. where proprietary bends are available Foremen/ - Where proprietary bends are not Quality Engineer available, the use of hot or cold pulled bends will be permitted on copper pipe work provided there is no distortion, no undue thinning of the wall, no ovality or any damage to metallic structure of the metal - Bends may be hot formed at the mfr.'s works or cold bend on machine site using an approved bending used by an experienced operative Drawings Visual inspection of - 'KOTERLUX PLUS' / approved Engineer/ Contract Specs. pipes and fittings, 100% pipes are to be used where Foremen/ Mfr.'s specs. copper pipes are to be Quality Engineer BS 2871 Part 1 1971 concealed in block work Plastic covering to BS 3412 1976
