    Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist and professor, invented the first real telescope in 1608 by putting two lenses together based on Lippershey's earlier discovery that doing so allows seeing things more closely. Galileo created his telescope to better explore outer space and learn about planets and other celestial objects. The telescope allowed viewing the universe in new ways and led to increasingly powerful telescopes being developed over time, such as radio, x-ray, and gamma-ray telescopes, which observe invisible parts of the universe.

    role in scientific revolution. He also was a
    professor and experimenter.
    • The reason for making a more powerful
    telescope is to explore outer space better
    and learn about the planets and what else
    is out there.
    What led to this invention.
    Lippershey discovered by putting two lenses
    together you can see things more closely.
    By that Galileo put two and two together
    and made the first real telescope.
    After the Invention
    • After the telescope was invented more
    powerful version came out; like the radio,
    x-ray, and the gamma-ray telescope that
    is use to measure things that are invisible
    in the universe.
