TeamLuby Update Week of June 16, 2014

Spring Street School

Mrs. Lubys class

TeamLuby EOY class party is
Tuesday, 6/17 from 9:30 10;30 - you are
welcome to join us!
Our Monster Exchange descriptive
writing pieces are finally on Voicethread!
You can listen to your childs expressive
reading or share with a family member by
going to TeamLuby Blog! Your child can help
you access it! LittleBirdTales is happening
Soon!
Wow! I cant believe this is our last
formal newsletter! Each week you have
hopefully been kept informed as to your
childs weekly activities. There is a quick
10-question survey on TeamLuby if you
wouldnt mind taking a minute to complete
it. It will help with future communication!
Folders and desk materials will be
taken home this week. Please, before
throwing everything away, take a minute to
save important papers/folders in your
childs stuff boxes (thats what we call
them at my house). The writing folder has a
great deal of information about your childs
growth throughout the year.
We have been very fortunate this
year to have Sarah Kasof and Michela
Delpo as SHS volunteers. They have
worked with your children 1-1 and in small
groups! Michela was a former fourth grade
student of mine (classroom volunteer for 3
years) who is now off to Ithaca College!
Sarah will be a senior at SHS in the fall!
They have enjoyed spending time with your
children!
Reminders:
Tuesday, PE Sneakers!
Wednesday, Music - Recorders!
Mr. Popp says Thank you for the lovely
gifts!!

Box Tops are welcome all year long! During
the summer, please keep them in a bag and
bring them back in August!
*Class Party Monday, 6/17 9:30 -
10:30 you are welcomed to come!
*Thurs. 6/19 last day of fourth grade!

Homework
Date Assigned Due Date
I think we are done!

Language Arts
We will continue with our poetry and
readers theatre and finish up some small
group reading assignments.

Writing

Poetry and short writing pieces as
well as reflecting upon our writing
throughout the year.

Math
Our Probability Carnival was a
success although some vendors realized
their games sent them to the poor farm!
This short week we will explore area and
perimeter on the basketball court and
complete our Math Journals!
FAMILY LETTERS can be found on-line
this year! As in past years, they contain unit
vocabulary, activities, and selected homework
answers. You can find these newsletters at:
hLLp://everydaymaLh.uchlcago.edu/parenLs/4Lh-
grade/famlly-leLLers/ If you cannot access them,
please let me know.

Social Studies
The children have completed their
adventures throughout the four regions of
the United States and, hopefully, have a
much better understanding of the
land/water features, natural resources,
climate and people of our great country.
This big idea of why and where people live
where they do will help as they continue to
learn more about other countries and
people around the world in the upper
grades. Thank you for your assistance this
year!

Science - from the desk of Mrs. Liporto
