RESOLUTION B-1

Aware of the situation in the Middle East,

Deeply concerned of the consequences for the security and humanitarian conditions of all the
parts involved,

Taking into account the needs of Israelis and Palestinians,

Taking in consideration the previous resolutions of the Security Council and the General
Assembly specially 242, 338, and 1397 as well as the “Road map for a permanent solution in the
Palestinian-Israeli conflict based in two states”,

The Security Council:

1. Calls upon for a cease of fire from both parties;


2. Calls for a real commitment from the Palestinian National Authority to end terrorism and
bring into control the groups that might damage this process;
3. Firmly demands Israel to commit to end the blockade against the Gaza Strip;
4. Encourages to restart peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians subject to Hamas
having stopped all the attacks against Israel;
5. Recommends to Israel and other countries to accept Hamas as a party during the
negotiation;
6. Endorses the resumption of the stages planed in the ”Road Map for a permanent solution
in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based in two states”;
7. Urges, states and NGO’s to provide humanitarian assistance in the Gaza strip to civilians
and refugees;
8. Designates the UN program for democracy to assist Palestine in reaching a political
consensus;
9. Decides to remain seized of the matter.
