Coordinator, Financial Reporting

with a reputation for innovation. We are looking for a Coordinator to provide leadership in the
design and development of corporate-wide financial reporting.

The Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

• develop and implement effective month-end, quarterly and annual procedures to ensure
accurate and timely financial reporting and audited financial statements
• manage, train and direct staff providing leadership and coaching to develop a strong team
• develop financial policies, procedures and internal controls for the management and review
of financial activities of the County
• oversee special projects and provide financial analysis as directed by Executive Team, the
Treasurer or Manager
• review and recommend improvements to business processes, financial systems and
management information

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA) with a minimum of five years
experience in a controller role, preferably in a municipal environment
• the ability to provide leadership in the design, development and management of corporate-
wide business processes
• extensive knowledge Canadian GAAP for municipalities and the MGA
• the ability to resolve issues and concerns and problem-solve through negotiation
• excellent analytical skills and the ability to prepare clear and concise reports for presentation
to Council, Executive Team and Managers
• the ability prepare financial analysis and forecasts for presentation to the Executive Team
and Council
• a solid background and experience in financial policy development, review and
administration
• excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure
• advanced Microsoft Office skills

The annual salary range for this permanent position is $81,700 to $102,120, working 35 hours
per week.
