OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :

To assist the Ministry of Health, Indonesia and other relevant partners in the development and
implementation of national programmes for Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition.
This will be carried out through: 1) Implementing the MoH/WHO collaborative programme:2)
Coordinating activities with other UN agencies and developing partners;3) Providing technical
assistance in priority of child and adolescent health and nutrition, such as: Integrated
Management of Childhood illness, Essential Newborn Care, Community IMCI, Baby Friendly
Hospitals, Hospital Care for Children, Adolescent Friendly Health Services; 4) Assisting in
monitoring and quality assurance of various child, adolescent health and nutrition
programmes; 5) Planning and facilitating national, provincial and possibly district level
activities; 6) Capacity building; and 7) Advocating new initiatives of WHO in the area of Child
and Adolescent Health and Nutrition.

Description of duties:

Under the overall supervision of the Medical Officer for CAH, as first level supervisor, and WR
Indonesia, as second level supervisor, the incumbent will perform, support and also include to
manage all available resource data for Child and Adolescent Health and Development and
Nutrition so that they can be used effectively, with the following specific duties:

1. To manage all available resource data for Child and Adolescent Health and
Development and Nutrition so that they can be used effectively
2. Obtain and manage data from other sources such as financial allocation data,
statistics and on service availability
3. Establish a Geographic Information System which allows spatial mapping of
above data
4. To prepare and design data analysis;
5. To assist provincial and district staff' in maintaining data management;
6. To conduct on the job training for other health professionals in the data
management and use;
7. Act as a liaison for data information between WHO and Government;
8. Other duties as assigned by Medical Officer WHO/CAH

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A degree in data management or statistics


Essential

A degree in data management or statistics, with profound knowledge in data base


management using commonly used software such as Epilnfo, STATA, geographic information
system with software such as ArcView and Health Mapper, and presentation software

Functional Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge:

Profound knowledge in data base management using commonly used software such as
EpiInfo, STATA, geographic information systems with software such as ArcView and Health
Mapper, and presentation software.

Skills:

Communicating in a credible and effective way: to speak and write clearly, adapting
communication style and content so they are appropriate to the needs of intended Audience,
and conveys information and opinions in a structured and credible way.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills, complemented by sound interpersonal skills and
the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Experience:

Essential: At least three years experience in the field of data management or statistics

Languages:

Good command of spoken and written English languages and Bahasa Indonesia
