SUMMARY OF THE POST:


The incumbent will help with planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of scaling-up cost-
effective Health Malaria and Immunization intervention packages with majority of the task will be to
assist acceleration of malaria reduction in Papua Province. He/ she will participate in data-driven
situational analyses, including epidemiological and emergency assessments; provide specific technical
expertise on Health policies and other issues; provide in-country technical and operational support; and
help monitor, evaluate and report on related Health programs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Timely, regular data-driven analysis for planning and results-based management for scaling-up
specific Health Malaria and Immunization interventions.
2. Technical expertise on specific Health Malaria and some Immunization interventions.
3. Technical and operational support provided to key government and non-government partners
on scaling-up interventions (downstream and upstream activities). Monitoring, evaluation and
reporting on specific Health Malaria and Immunization interventions carried out through various
field visits, in a timely manner, efficiently, rigorously and transparently in compliance with the
established guidelines and procedures.
4. Government and non-government recipients accountable for UNICEF specific supply, non-supply
and financial assistance.

Profile of the ideal candidate:


• An MD or Master’s degree*) in Health or related field including Medicine, Public Health,
Epidemiology, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention or a field relevant to international public
health development assistance.
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation
monitoring and evaluation of health Malaria and/or Immunization programs. Professional work
experience in a program management function or a technical expert capacity in child survival and
health care.
• Relevant field work experience with troubleshooting skill is a must.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Skillful in establishing networking and advocacy relevant to Malaria and Immunization programs is
preferred.
• Has strong motivation to work in Papua and willingness to travel.
• Background/familiarity with Emergency is an asset.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia

(* First level university degree may be considered if combined with a minimum 6 (six) years of
professional work experience in the above field.
