Annual salary: In accordance with WHO Salary Scale for SSA support function
at Level B (From IDR 34, 449, 533 to 40,765,333 per month)

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:

WHO is the specialized agency of the United Nations with objectives to promote health,
keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. The WHO Indonesia Country Office directs
and coordinates the authority for health by supporting the Indonesian Government in the
formulation, implementation and evaluation of national health policies, strategies and plans,
setting norms and standards, improving knowledge dissemination and management,
monitoring country health situation and building sustainable institutional capacity. The
Country Office continually improves its administrative efficiency in managing financial and
human resources in a results-oriented and transparent manner. This is crucial for the
organization to deliver appropriate technical assistance to the Government. The objective of
the Programme is to deliver WHO core functions at the country level, with particular focus of
the Organization's directing and coordinating role for international work. Within this
framework, activities include support to the Government in the formulation, implementation
and evaluation of national health policies, strategies and plans, and development and
management of WHO technical cooperation progammes at the country level.

The Government of Indonesia will be assuming the Presidency of G20 in 2022. At present,
preparatory work is on full speed. The Ministry of Health is engaged in activities consisting
of coordination and technical meetings, planning, programme development and technical
document writing. The MOH is responsible for developing issue papers for the G20 and
organize Ministerial meetings during the actual presidency period. To support Indonesia’s
G20 Presidency, the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health of the
Republic of Indonesia has requested for WHO support for technical officers for
secondment to the MOH.

There will be two (2) technical officers to be recruited to provide the support to the MOH.
These will be under SSA contracts with WHO at NOB equivalent.

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of the BIC and overall guidance and
supervision of the WR, the Technical Officers (2) shall:

1. Coordinate internal and external preparation meetings;


2. Report and follow up the outcome of the preparation meetings;
3. Compile inputs received from technical units, relevant ministries, G20
countries and international organizations;
4. Draft health issue notes, concept notes, and agenda of G20 health meetings;
5. Plan and prepare logistics support for the G20 health related meetings;
6. Draft G20 meeting notes and related outcome documents;
7. Draft Indonesia position papers, statements, and presentations in G20 health
related meetings.

Education Essential:
Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Science, Public Health, or


equivalent field in programme management

Desirable:
Post graduate studies, such as MPH in related field,
PHD or M.D.
Experience: Essential:

Minimum of 3 year of supporting staff experience in


international environment

Desirable:

Minimum of 5 year of supporting staff experience in


international environment

Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English (minimum


TOEFL ITP score: 600)
Native language skills in Bahasa Indonesia

Other Skills (e.g. IT): Work is performed in normal working environment.


Computer literacy: Proficient in the use of Microsoft
Office applications
