Whether you’re a hunter, outdoor enthusiast,

camper or just someone who sees
preparedness as a responsible thing to do,
these two lights from Streamlight will satisfy all
of your non-tactical needs.

Streamlight has made a major commitment to

dual fuel and rechargeable lighting products for
their commercial and tactical product lines. At
Shot Show 2019, in Las Vegas, the company
introduced two commercial lighting products
that I found very interesting. What rang my bell
was their wide range of application and
functionality.
I’ll start with the Siege X USB. This light has
everything that you’ll probably ever need; in
fact, I was looking to see where they hid the can
opener. I’m being facetious of course, but in a
very small and rechargeable package, you get a
flash light with two output settings, a 360°
white light with three output settings and a red
light, to preserve your night vision, that
functions as an S.O.S. signaling device.
The small but mighty
Siege X is a dual fuel
lantern. Twisting
open the bottom cap
reveals an O-ring
sealed battery
compartment that
will accept two
CR123A batteries or
Streamlight’s 18650 USB rechargeable battery.
Your highest level of performance will come
from the 18650 battery, so I recommend that
you always use the lithium battery, keeping two
CR123As as a backup in the event that power is
not available. I also recommend that you add a
solar battery charger to your emergency
preparedness kit.
The ON/OFF switch,
located on the top
cap, powers on or off
the Siege X and cycles
through its various
options, pressing and
holding the power
button will cycle
through those options. In addition to mode
selection, the ON/OFF switch provides a visual
indication of battery condition, transitioning
from green to yellow then red as the battery is
depleted.
The Siege X also functions as a handheld
flashlight of two output levels, low and high.

The Siege X will sit on a table for that romantic
lantern light dinner; it will hang upside down
using the D-ring stowed on the bottom cap and
it also has an ergonomically designed handle
that allows lantern positioning as necessary.
At a hair over 4.3 inches in length and 7.3 oz.,
keeping a couple in your kit makes good sense.
Considering you can purchase the Siege X USB
for under $50, it is money very well spent.
But, what if you also need a flexible task or
navigation light? Well Streamlight has you
covered with the new Bandit Pro headlamp.
In keeping with Streamlight’s direction, the
Bandit Pro is USB rechargeable. Everything that

you need to recharge this headlamp is included
in the factory packaging. Recharging can be
accomplished using any available USB charging
port.
The activation switch serves to display charging
status, powers the headlamp on and off and
selects between three modes of operation: low,
high and flashing. The low setting delivers a
wide 35 lumen beam with a runtime of 21 hrs
from a fully charged battery, the high setting
180 lumens and a runtime of 4.5 hours. The
emergency signaling flash is accessed by
depressing and holding the activation while in
the high mode. The light flashes at
approximately 2.3 per second and operates in
the high illumination mode of 180 lumens.
Wearing the Bandit Pro is extremely
comfortable and It
weighs a mere 2.1 oz.
Streamlight includes
and elastic reversible
headband along with
a visor clip to wear it on your favorite chapeau.
The Bandit Pro is IPX4 water resistant and a 2
meter impact resistance; add to that a street
price of under $30.
