Sorry This book although has some factual truths also fails in several key ones. The authors bias towards India is evident but it should not come at the cost of truth as then it becomes a propaganda manifest. There is no word Indus in the first place as Indians belong to Saraswathi -Sindhu civilization. We belong to that civilization. Indians belong to Sanathana Dharma and no other. Veda means knowledge it does not represent books. The europeran civilization studied Indians as they were first trying to proove that the european brain was bigger than that of the savages and therefore they had to be more intelligent. This was the basis of all racisim. Hitler was very influenced by this. All studies by british, american scholors came later when they started to investigate other literatures. Saraswathi reiver became extinct whihc led to rig vedic time people migrating down south. Indian are a mixed race of people who have mixtures of europeans, africans and persians in their genetic make up irrespective of their currently parcticed religion or current ethnicity or state. The genetic conserved DNA markers from a region of cell called mitochondia whihc is passed on from generation to generation through the female line has proven this. So those who consider themselves as pure hindus could easily have a genetic marker which came from Persia. These could have happend via trade, mixtures through marriages among hindu princesses and muslim princes, or illegitimate relationsships. Todays Indians have conveniently forgotten that Gargi vashistas wife was a shudra by birth but she was so educated that she was made into "twice born" of dwija whihc means once born by accidnet of birth and bron agian due to accumulation of knowledge. Indian muslims are all in their previous " avatars" hindus. All christians similarly are Avatars of Jews. Jews had several linaks with Muslims as well. So there is no question of integrating them into India as they are already so. Indians do not need a westerner to tell them that muslims cant be integrated into India ( pp27). Indians gave the world the current numbering system including 0. The romans knew only roman numerals. Sanskrit has a origin in some of the areas near middle east and one of the possible origins of sanskrit could be the Bruhi language. The dravidians did not need the "Aryans" ( the invasion theory is dead and gone) to teach them anything. The Dravidians are the earliest ecologists who worshipped the nature around them similar to Aboriginals of Australia who also have similar stories of a serpent creating the earth and surrounding the earth whihc is what is explained in "Narayan sooktham". The relationship of all 5 natural elements is expalined in "manthrapushpam". It is false to say that the westerns did not understand the importance of Vedas etc. Quantum Physicists including einestine and Robert Oppenhimer were astute students of vedas etc and infact when the test bomb exploded Oppenhimer used a stanza in Bahagavadgeetha to describe it in a press meeting. I am sorry as an Indian I dont need this book to feel proud of my heritage. Indians should stop looking to west to validate thier heritage and their existance. They should read every book on Vedas, Upanishads etc whihc are available on sacred.text.com and go back the roots of their civilizations, understand the meaninglessness and shallowness of how peoples understanding is today especailly when it comes to caste, religion and ethnicity. Only then Vedas will become vibrant once again in Indian culture as it is as applicable today more so than ever before. Vedas do not take us backwards as they are more progressive than what is happening in India today. The Christinity and Isalm are both Abrahamic religions with similar origins. Todays India is divided because of books like these who in the name of serving the country are actully diving the country. There is nothing to be proud of this book. As an Indian and of Sanathana dharma I know how liberal and how progressive my Dharma is in its thinking and how evolved it is in every whihc way including on climate change. So if you are a true indian please go back to the vedas etc and read them. There are plenty of translations in english. Please do not fall for false prophets like this as Indias beauty is in its evolution of thought and not stagnation of thought at any particular time or ideology.
