YOUTH Philippines or the Young Overseers United Through Hope Philippines

Inc., is a non-government, non-stock and not-for-profit youth association registered
under the Securities and Exchange Commission, under the laws of the Philippines. It is a
new initiative that is youth-led, created and managed. It was conceived out of the need
to provide a genuine opportunity and venue to express youth’s ideas, creativity and
voice.

We strongly affirm that our young people are the principal actors in the country’s social
and political creativity today. Under the onslaught of a range of adversities—
unemployment, political repression, conflict, and the collapse of education systems—the
youth are actively fashioning new social orders. Inspired by their energy, creativity,
knowledge, idealism and hope, YOUTH Philippines shall lead this sector strong enough
to lead the country towards a renewed and equitable socio-political climate. Rather than
despair at the daunting task, we recognize the enormous opportunities for our country
in the path to creating a more stable and just society.

The art is a component of social action and positive activism, and is seen as a
legitimate, and formal, yet creative and artistic channel for people to express their views
of Philippine Society in general. In this medium, we are able to communicate, through
live performance, the emotions encapsulated in every social issue.

YOUTH Philippines Inc. hopes to re-invigorate the spirit of dynamism in expressing

the youth’s voice, in terms of the different social issues of today, particularly, on the
Youth’s Role in Preserving our History and Culture and also, in terms of active socio-
civic engagement in our programs on environmental protection and
preservation and disaster preparedness.

Thus, we shall be staging a full-length stage presentation based from Jose Rizal’s “The
Philippines: A Century Hence” piece entitled “Filipinas Dentro De Cien Anos:
Ondoy”, a story reliving the character of Jose Rizal in the modern time, in the midst of
the onslaught wrought about by Typhoon Ondoy in a community.

It revolves around the story of a young Christian, Muslim and Lumad leader forced
to co-exist and help each other in the midst of rehabilitation efforts of the community to
restore their livelihood after the typhoon and the impending threat of another disaster.
This comes with the presence of Jose Rizal in the person of Pepe, a young writer
correspondent assigned to cover the beat news and do a documentary on the onslaught
of Ondoy in the community.

The story promotes the value of history in our present time, the importance of pro-
active socio-civic engagement between people and respect for diverse cultures,
religions and ethnicities in society, with the aim of strengthening Filipino
nationalism and patriotism through a THOUGHT EMPOWERING presentation.

We are inviting your school to witness this thought empowering production which hopes
to stir genuine positive social action amongst our youth, not only for academic
purposes, but instill a value of participation amongst your students, through the
medium of theater arts.

It will be staged at a venue of your preference, but we’re giving you the options as to
where you want to watch the presentation. The following have been chosen as our
venues for the event:

 SM Manila
 Paco Catholic School Theater
 Your school (depends on the capacity)

The play will be staged on February 5, 6, 12, 13 and 20, 21 with 1 and 4 pm shows,
depending on your date and time of preference.

Kung sa gayon ay mga nagkasala't taksil din kayo, dahil hindi ninyo nakikita na ang
pinapatay ninyo ay ang inyong sariling bayan. Ano ang inyong magiging... kinahitnan
sa kinabukasan? Isang bansang walang pagkatao at walang sariling pagkukusa? Ang
Lahat sa inyo ay ipinagkaloob na! Mamamatay kayo bago pa man dumating ang
liwanag na inyong inaasahan..."

“SYNOPSIS:
FILIPINAS DENTRO DE CIEN ANOS: ONDOY”
"Hindi man natin kalaban ang mga kastila ngayon, kalaban pa rin natin ang inhustisya.
Hindi man sakop ang ating mga lupain ng mga Kastila, bihag naman tayo ng kawalan ng
reporma sa lupa. Hindi man nagpapatayan ang mga iba't ibang lahi ng iba't ibang bansa
para sa ating lupa, nagpapatayan naman ang magkakalahing Pilipino sa sarili nitong
bansa. Ngunit di natin naisip, na mas may higit na kalaban sa lahat ng ating nakikita o
napaghahandaan, at ito ang hagupit ng kalikasan, na wala tayong kalaban-laban"

"Papaano natin sisimulan kung wala tayong makakapitan?Papaano tayo mabubuhay

kung wala naman tayong pera? Papaano tayo tatagal kung ayaw na nating lumaban?"

SIMPLE... NGUNIT MAKATOTOHANAN MGA TANONG...

Ang panimula ay sadyang napakahirap para sa anu mang bagay, lalo na kung ikaw ay
magsisimula sa wala. Pero ang tao'y malikhain, maparaan, madiskarte. Ito ang
pangunahing sandata ng bawat isa sa atin sa kabila ng lahat ng sakuna na ating
pinagdaanan sa mga nakalipas na panahon.

Dito magsisimula ang kuwento ng isang bayang niragasa at biniktima ng mga malalakas
na unos- biktima ng pangmatagalang digmaan, biktima ng kawalan ng sapat na
ikabubuhay, biktima ng kawalan ng katahimikan sa sarili nitong komunidad, biktima ng
isang bagyong ONDOY.

Ang ONDOY ay isang istorya sa likod ng isang bayang pilit bumabangon sa maraming
pagsubok- di lamang sa pananalantang pisikal na dinudulot ng isang bagyo, kundi pati
na rin sa mas malalalim na sugat na lalo lamang pinahapdi ng ragasa ng bagyo.

Hindi lamang ito simpleng istorya na naglalahad ng problema, ngunit di tulad ng ibang
dula, mas binibigyang pansin dito ang pagpapahayag ng mga solusyon at katugunan sa
sari-saring suliranin sa isang komunidad.

Nakapaloob dito ang kuwento ng tatlong pinuno ng mga Muslim, Lumad at Kristyano, na
kinakailangang magkaisa para muling itayo ang kanilang komunidad sa hagupit ng
Bagyong Ondoy.

Ang dula ay muli ring magbibigay buhay sa karakter ni Rizal, sa pamamagitan ni Pepe,
isang batang reporter at manunulat, na inatasang idokumento ang mga pangyayari sa
muling pagbangon ng isang komunidad. Ang kakayahang makakita ng mga pangitain ni
Pepe ay mahahalintulad sa pananaw ni Rizal na napaloob sa kanyang mga isinulat sa
akdang “The Philippines: A Century Hence”.
Ang hamon sa lahat ay baguhin ang nakatakdang kasaysayan sa komunidad, na nasa sa
kanilang kamay, bagamat sila ay galing sa iba’t ibang pangkat.

Hindi lamang ito sumesentro sa indibidwalismo ng isang tao, ngunit ito ay naglalaman
din ng mahahalagang aral sa ugnayan ng tao at kanyang komunidad, ng kanyang
kapaligiran- kung paano magsisimula ang tunay na kapayapaan sa pamamagitan ng
mga nag-aalitang lahi, tunay na pagtutulungan sa pagitan ng mayaman at mahirap,
pagkakaisa sa gitna ng pagkakaiba-iba, at paggalang at pagkatuto sa kasaysayan at sa
nakaraan.

Ito ay dulang hindi lamang pupukaw sa damdamin ng bawat isa, ngunit higit pa rito,
dulang magsisimula ng isang bagong kaisipan, at bagong pagkilos- hindi para sa
panibago na namang people power/ano pa mang radikalismo, ngunit pagkilos na
produktibo na siyang makapag-aangat sa pamumuhay ng bawat tao.

"At ang lahat ng ito, ay ayon sa mga nasinayang bisyon at pangitain ni Gat
Jose Rizal habang itinitala niya ang Filipinas De cien años (Ang Pilipinas
matapos ang sandaang taon)..."
MARKETING AGREEMENT

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between YOU (hereinafter
referred to as "Marketer") and YOUTH Philippines (hereinafter referred to as
"Event Manager"), this day of October year 2010 at the 4th Floor,
SSC Bldg, Cubao, Quezon City.

FOR, AND IN CONSIDERATION OF, the premises and the mutual covenants
contained herein, Producer and Event Manager do hereby agree as follows:

1. Engagement. Producer hereby engages the services of Market to manage and

organize for producer the Youth Philippines (hereinafter referred to as "Production").
Marketer hereby agrees to sell tickets for a said play date to the best of his/her ability.
YOUTH Philippines’ Creative Management Team will manage the production. and
Production Management Team will take care of collection of money, as per share of the
group in the ticket sales of the production.
