INT. MUSEUM – HISTORY OF ENTERTAINMENT EXHIBITION – DAY

Crowds of children and parents mill around a large, high

ceilinged space containing all types of entertainments,
from PINBALL MACHINES to VIRTUAL REALITY SYSTEMS. In the
center of the hall, a collection of larger objects, such
as a FERRIS WHEEL, a HELTER SKELTER, a ROLLER COASTER and
a CAROUSEL. Most exhibits have a queue to use them, but
the older and tamer fairground rides are hardly used.

EXT. MUSEUM – DAY

An elderly WINDOWCLEANER stands in a cradle cleaning the

windows on the outside of the History of Entertainment
Exhibition hall. As he cleans the window, he looks
wistfully down at the carousel.

EXT. FAIRGROUND – NIGHT, FLASHBACK, MANY YEARS AGO

A YOUNG BOY and his FATHER are standing in front of a

steam powered CAROUSEL. The boy is captivated by the
horses going round and round, happy children sitting on
top.

EXT. MUSEUM – DUSK

The Windowcleaner is still cleaning the windows as the

sunset is reflected in them. Through his shadow, he can
see the people thinning out as they start to leave.

INT. MUSEUM – NIGHT

The Windowcleaner walks through the deserted exhibition

towards the front door. As he walks past display cases,
his eye is caught by a case whose light is still on. He
stops in front of the case – inside is a pair of
ROLLERSKATES. As he stands there, a video of people
roller-skating starts to play. He looks at the video,
then gazes at the shadowy form of the Helter Skelter
outlined against the window.

CUT TO:

INT. MUSEUM – NIGHT

The Carousel is lit up and in motion. A lone figure –

the Windowcleaner – is riding it. As the carousel
revolves, the reflection of the Windowcleaner can be seen
in an adjacent display case.

The Reflection in the case changes to the Small Boy.
