Emphasis

Purpose : Determine emphasis a field in experiment

Date : January, 29th 2011.

Based on theory :

Rigid body will perform translational motion when the force applied on the
right things about a point called the center of gravity. Center of gravity is the point
where the object will be in rotational equilibrium (not experience rotation). At the
time of rigid body having translational and rotational motion at once, then at that
point the weight will act as the axis of rotation and the trajectory of motion of this
weight point trajectory describes the motion translation.
In almost all the problems of mechanics, g (acceleration of gravity) may be
considered uniform in all parts of the body, because the relatively small body size
than the distance that can cause a significant change in g. Thus the center of mass
and center of gravity can be taken as the same point. For objects that have a severe
form of an arbitrary location of the point sought by calculation. The calculation is
based on the assumption that we can take some points from the objects that wish
calculated is multiplied by the heavy emphasis on each point and then summed
and divided by the total weight on each point. said center of gravity is also the
center of mass near the earth's surface, but to place a certain height above the
earth's center of gravity and center of mass to be distinguished.

Work Step

1. Prepare equipment and material


2. Make ready one cardboard get disordered form and a yarn.
3. Make hole using a knob needle in several place.
4. Hang the cardboard on a knob needle and ties the weight (a weight tied
with a yarn).
5. Make a dotted line on the cardboard on the part which is covered by the
yarn.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with different holes.
7. Weighs that cardboard on balance. First balance result is value W0.
8. Cut one of dotted line. Then weighs cardboard abatement.
9. Balance result cardboard abatement is value W1 and W2.
10. Repeat step 3 and 4 with different holes.
11. Make a dotted line on the card on the part which is covered by the yarn.
12. A both line are value Z1 and Z2.
13. Stick that cardboard on millimeter paper.

2. If experiment is done meticulous, how necessarily value column 7 and 10
(are even greater or smaller)?
3. Write down answer for problem number 2 on shaped mathematics

2. Answer
1. The result is a column column number 7 on the x axis is 11 178 and
column number 10 is 11 428 and in column number 7 on the y-axis is
column number 11 826 and 10 is 12,778. On axis x and y in column
number 7 and 10 there are differences that should be the same. Column
number 7 is the product of weight and length at first at first while the
column number 10 is the result of multiplication plus 1 with a length of
heavy cardboard carton 1 and 2 with a length of heavy cardboard carton 2.
Cardboard carton 1 and 2 is a piece of cardboard at first.
2. If experiment is done meticulous necessarily value column 7 and 10 must
even because, column 7 is the first carton while, column 10 is the result of
multiplication plus carton 1 and 2, which is part of the original carton is
cut in half so it is logically the result of the calculation will be the same.

Experiment error sources
Not use statif when hanging meanwhile when determine the line
inaccurate because when hanging hand is shake.

Conclusion

Center of gravity of an object can be determined by using two ways, both


in practice and with calculation. How to practice can be used to determine center
of gravity of an object / build a regular or irregular.
The second way by means of calculation, this calculation can be used to
determine center of gravity of an object / wake up the uniform just as it requires
the size - the size of the wake that would be inserted into the formula.
