a healthier and cleaner place. The following students volunteered often in the recycling process. However, all students at the Edge contributed by placing trays in the proper lunch barrels. Hats off to Mrs. Bergman and her recycling team. The volunteers names are: Tia Drilling, Ashley Baker, Taylor Soles, Alexis Davison, Megan Owen, Brook Christensen, Brooke Mason, Emily Holton and Kelsey Battle. Article published by the following 5th grade students: Jackie Holton, Taylor Reed, Brianna Conway, and Kaytlyn Selelyo. this summer. Our cats, dogs and other companion animals can be just as uncomfortable in the heat and humidity as we are and can quickly become dangerously overheated, said Frank. Pets can suffer from heat stroke, dehydration, and even sunburn. So its critical you use sound, common sense practices like not leaving your pet in a car. Even if you park it in the shade and have the windows partially open, it only takes a few minutes for temperatures inside the car to reach deadly levels. While all dogs and cats are at risk, older or very young pets, overweight pets, those with heavy coats, and short-nosed dogs may need extra care. Owners need to limit their exercise to early morning and evening on hot and humid days as asphalt becomes very hot, keep the water bowl refreshed, and be sure a cool environment is always nearby. If your pet is panting excessively or has difficulty breathing, drools excessively or appears weak or in a stupor, immediately place your pet in the shade or air conditioning and apply cool-not cold-water to reduce the animals core body temperature. Get help from a licensed veterinarian as soon as possible. The following are some other simple summer pet safety tips: n Beware of toxic agents such as plant food, insecticides, fertilizer, coolants, citronella candles, oil products, and insect coils that may be around the home and yard. n The heat, loud noise, and confusion of crowded summer events can stress pets and isnt an enjoyable experience for them. n Make sure your pet is always wearing a collar or identification such as a tag or microchip. n Maintain recommended heartworm medication since the potentially deadly heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes.

These three brothers were released by their owners and in need of loving homes. They all enjoy chasing little movement whether it is a dust bunny or a cat toy rolling across the oor. They are very relaxed little guys who dont seem to mind much of anything. They are about 12 weeks old and ready for homes as of 6/15/11 after they have been neutered and made current on their vaccinations.
Males dogs are $115.00 which covers the neuter surgery as well as all vaccinations a heartworm test and a $20.00 adoption fee. Females are $125.00 which includes all of the above as well. $10.00 is required for Montcalm County Residents for the Dog License at the time of adoption. THANK YOU The Coral Days Festival celebration is produced by volunteers who work throughout the year raising money, planning and organizing the various events. The festival changes a little bit each year; but one thing remains the same: there is something fun for everyone! Thank You to the Coral Fire Station, Coral Days Festival Committee, Coral Fire Auxiliary and all who had a part in making our festival a success.
