But when did Jesus ever by a long shot -- but God has say all our roads would be thornless and all our seas would be calm? Instead, He foretold trials and tribulations for those who follow after Him. I have felt Him with me on this journey. I have seen His hand at work. He has dried my tears. And in my most honest hour, I confess I want to be no place else. Pray that God would continue to guide me through this journey and comfort me in my sorrows. Thanks! Love,

A Nation is Born!
In all my years, I have seen many babies come into the world. But this month is the first time Ive watched a nations birth! The countless similarities are remarkable. In fact, there are few Africans Ive met who do NOT compare this fledgling democracy to that of the birth of a neonate. South Sudan has labored long and hard for decades. They have been in strong labor pains and suffered outrageously. For years they have pushed and pushed for change. Their transition has been tumultuous and strained. But at last the baby has come... and is amazingly alive! South Sudan will not grow overnight. Much like a fragile child, she will need to be coddled and cared for. But eventually, I hope to see her strong and vibrant like those who inhabit her lands. This newest nation is a miracle. God has allowed it; God has given her breath; May God keep her well! Perhaps Im just extra sentimental these days, but I confess Im amazed. Please pray that Sudan would be based on His goodness and grace and show the world what He can do in a nation dedicated to Him! -- SW Mailing Address:

Praises:
The ambulance has been approved. And Im told we should have it in the next few weeks! Im so stinkin excited to have it come! Thank you for praying! Also, my heart has found time to rest and relax these last few weeks. Im in Kenya on a break. Pray for God to speak to me clearly during this time.

Prayers:
Vision: Im in need of a clear vision of how to serve the ministry and the people of Sudan. Language: Everyday, I see a greater need to understand the languages of this region. I desperately desire to speak Dinka and Sudanese Arabic well. Pray for me to learn them quickly. Currently, I can do about half of a prenatal in Dinka. Its progress... but slow. Strong Hands: I have stopped asking God for more workers. Instead Im asking for stronger hands. Please pray with me.
