CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

MAJOR DETOUR COMING TO NORTH MAIN BETWEEN NAYLOR AND FRANKLIN
Construction for the new North light rail line will require the closure of portions of North Main between Naylor and Franklin streets. This closure is required to rebuild the northern section of the Main Street Bridge and to construct the southern portion of new light rail bridge over the UPRR (Union Pacific Railroad) tracks. The detour is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, August 8, 2011 and will continue for approximately twelve (12) months.

Northbound traffic on Main (see map) will be detoured right on Franklin, then left on San Jacinto. Traffic will then be diverted right on Rothwell, left on Hardy, right on Lyons, and left on Maury. At Lorraine, traffic will take a left to connect back to North Main via Hogan. Southbound traffic on North Main will take a left on Hogan which turns into Lorraine, then right on Maury. At Lyons, traffic will take a right and then a left onto McKee. At Providence, traffic will take right and then a left on North San Jacinto and connect back to Main via Commerce.

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS
Pedestrians will be detoured to the sidewalk on the east side of North Main. Pedestrian access will be provided to University of Houston Downtown and the METRO Rail station on the Main Street Bridge.

ACTUALIZACIN DE CONSTRUCCIN

SE LLEVARN A CABO IMPORTANTES DESVIACIONES EN LA CALLE MAIN NORTE, ENTRE NAYLOR Y FRANKLIN
Las obras de construccin para el nuevo tren ligero de la Lnea del Norte requerirn el cierre de partes de la Calle Main Norte, entre las calles de Naylor y Franklin. Este cierre se requiere para reconstruir la seccin norte del Puente de la Calle Main Norte y para construir la parte sur de un nuevo puente para el tren ligero que pasar por encima de las vas del Ferrocarril Union Pacific (UPRR, por sus siglas en ingls). La desviacin est programada para iniciar la semana del lunes 8 de agosto de 2011 y continuar durante doce (12) meses, aproximadamente.

DESVIACIN DEL TRNSITO

El trnsito sobre la calle Main Norte con direccin al norte (ver mapa) se desviar a la derecha en Franklin; luego se desviar a la derecha en Rothwell; a la izquierda en Hardy; a la derecha en Lyons; y por ltimo, a la izquierda en Maury. En Lorraine, el trnsito se desviar a la izquierda para conectarse de nuevo con la calle Main Norte a travs de Hogan. El trnsito sobre la calle Main Norte con direccin al sur se desviar a la izquierda en Hogan la cual se convierte en Lorraine; despus se desviar a la derecha en Maury. En Lyons, el trnsito se desviar a la derecha y luego de nuevo a la izquierda McKee. En Providence, el trnsito deber desviarse a la derecha y despus a la izquierda en San Jacinto Norte, para luego conectarse de nuevo con la calle Main a travs de Commerce.

ACCESO PEATONAL
Los peatones sern desviados a la acera en el lado este de la calle Main Norte. Se proporcionar acceso peatonal a la Universidad de Houston, plantel Centro (Downtown), y a la estacin del Tren Ligero de METRO que se encuentra en el Puente de la Calle Main.
