Fortis launches four more hospitals

New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS) Hospital chain Fortis Healthcare (India) Monday announced the launch of four new establishments as part of plan to strengthen its presence in the country, taking its launches to 10 in as many weeks and its bed capacity to 10,270. Besides setting up new hospitals in Cochin, Bilaspur and Bangalore, the healthcare provider will manage the cardiac care unit at Asansol's HLG Hospital in West Bengal.
Aventis buys Universal nutrition unit

Mumbai, Aug. 24: Aventis Pharma, a subsidiary of French drug giant Sanofi, is acquiring the nutrition product business of Universal Medicare Pvt Ltd for a little over $100 million. This is the second acquisition by Sanofi in India in two years. In 2009, Sanofi-Aventis bought Hyderabad-based vaccine maker Shantha Biotechnics.
