Paid app downloads increase by 4% on Android from 3% to 7% and 2% on iPhone from18% to 20%. This month users appear to be opting for the paid versions of many apps oropting for premium priced games such as Cut the Rope, Zenonia, Need for Speed,Asphalt 6, and several paid launcher apps.
Best in Category
On Android, larger categories such as games, utilities, and entertainment, saw slightdownticks, while books, travel, and sports saw increases in their category share. For iOS,games increased their share from 31.5% to 32.6% (up from 27.7% two months ago). Utilityapps increased their share from 6.0% to 7.1% as wallpaper and other customization appsincrease in popularity on iOS. Reference apps nearly halved their share from 8.8% lastmonth to 4.9% this month.
