February 13, 2012 Dear Friends & Family, As you may know, I graduated in May from the University

of Missouri with a degree in journalism. During my time at Mizzou, I got involved with a life changing campus church called The Rock, which belongs to a larger system of campus churches called Great Commission Ministries (GCM). Since the day I moved to College Station to pursue my masters degree in student affairs administration in higher education (SAAHE)* at Texas A&M, I have been involved with the GCM church here thanks to connections I made at GCMs summer Leadership Training (LT)* program in Colorado, which I attended during the summer of 2010.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20a

It was wonderful to move to College Station in May and instantly be immersed in a supportive community of faith through Fellowship Church. At Fellowship, I am involved in a small group (similar to my Mark Twain Canvas Group at Mizzou) called Shockwave. This group of 20-30 college students and recent grads have been a wonderful example of Christs body to me, helping me adjust to my new life here by serving me and coming alongside me as I have grown to know God more intimately over the past 9 months. Since coming to A&M, I have felt God put it on my heart to go on my first international mission trip. I have never left the country and have only been on one mission trip previous to moving to College Station. Lord willing, I am planning to go on a two-week trip to Milan, Italy, May 13-27 with a team from Fellowship. Our team will be serving a local church in Milan called il Rifugio (The Refuge) through its English club outreach, meeting students real needs for their careers and lives. Through this club, we will be able to build relationships with students that will open doors to share the gospel. Italy may not seem like a high priority on the missions list, but the truth is that students in Italy are in desperate need of the good news Jesus freely gives. Although many students were raised in Catholic families, many have turned away from Christ to materialism and sensuality to meet their needs, experiencing shallow friendships and broken families. Contrary to popular belief, almost every student our team has met in previous years is Atheist or Agnostic. Meeting the needs of these Italian students will take a lot of prayer, and we are asking the Lord to prepare their hearts and ours. Our team also needs your help. Each team member has been asked to raise $2550 to cover travel, food, and supplies (Bibles, materials, etc.) necessary for our trip. I am trusting God to meet this need by providing people willing to invest gifts of $200, $100, or $50. $1200 is due by March 15 to cover airline tickets. All funds are due by April 12. I know that for many of you, money is tight and you may not be able to give much on our teams behalf. Please know that prayer is needed just as much as financial support and that every bit of financial help, even $10, makes a difference.
