About my organization: M/S Ashok Dyestuff (P) Ltd., was established as a Private Limited firm in 1989. Ours is an enterprise that deals with manufacture of Dyes and chemicals, which are basically Textile products. Dye is used for dyeing textiles and Chemicals finds uses in many industries .Our factory is situated in Delhi in an Industrial Development Area located within the city limits. We have an installed capacity to manufacture about 3000 Tons per annum. Our customers can be classified into two major segments. One, dealers of dyes and chemicals and two, various industires involved in dyeing of fabric and yarn. The material is mostly made to order depending on the exact requirement and desired properties of the product. We have setup a brand Ashocol to market our products by tie-ing up with a trading/marketing firm.

You are planning to hire for a senior level managerial position in your company. This position would be having people management responsibilities i.e. have other people reporting to him/her. Create an interview sheet for this position. The following needs to be identified and defined: 1. Position title / designation: We are looking for a senior level executive to advice to top management for the overall process going on. The position that we are looking for is: Senior Manager It is important that this executive has considerable experience in the Management and should have managed a office of this size. 2. Key responsibilities: The key responsibilities will be: y Accounting Solutions y Advise on Import y Scheduling the meetings y Keeping a check on Debtors y Overall responsibility of the Management

3. Identify 4- 5 Key Competencies relevant to the role. 4. Against each of the competencies, write down 2-3 openended questions that you will ask the candidate to assess whether he/she possesses the Competency required to do the job effectively. Independent thinking: Required, as he will be responsible for the Managerial Actions. Q s: y Tell me of a situation when you had to take a crucial decision in the absence of the owners. y Tell me of a situation when you had to take a decision when you had multiple options from various quarters Multi-tasking: Required as he will be looking at various aspects of the business. Q s: y Tell us about various experiences that you have had handling different aspect of the business.

Planning Abilities: Scheduling is very important in our line of business. Q s: y In case of an overload in orders, how will you plan the Reports? y What do you plan to do in a situation where there are very few orders on hand. People Handling Skills: Since, there are different departments in the organizations there is a need to bring coordination and handle the work in case one is not able to do. Q s: y Have you ever faced a situation where you had lack of coordination among the departments and how did you overcome the situation. y In case of high absenteeism, how do you plan to ensure that it is reduced. 5. List down some key aspects of the culture of your company and write down 2-3 questions you will ask the candidate to assess whether he/she fits into your company s culture. A few key aspects of the culture of our organization are:

y Customer is the most important. y Absolutely no compromise on quality. y Delivery promises are to be kept (Realistic delivery schedules to be quoted) y Working Cycle to be Maintained. y Respect to everyone.
