A. Our company is planning to make a recruitment for purchasing department.
Now, let’s discuss about the recruitment that successful candidates need to meet.
B. Absolutely. I think the first thing that successful candidates must have is
bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or a related field like finance, economics.
It shows we how the candidates understand about the purchasing department.
A. I don’t think so because the most important thing is those candidates have
previous experience in a similar position or not. Purchasing department plays a
vital role in ensuring the success of our company. So, we need to recruit people
who have experience in procurement of goods and services.
B. Yes, I have same idea. We need candidates have previous experience because
we don’t have long time to train them. What about the candidates have proficiency
in the relevant management software programs? It could help candidates work
more effectively.
A. I completely agree with you. Our company has several purchasing management
software programs, so we need candidates who know how to make use of them.
Report writing skills are also essential for any employee in organization but it’s not
vital for purchasing department whereas communication and negotiation skills are
very important for this position. If the individual possess great ability in those
skills, our company bound to gain ton of benefits in business and able to achieve
good fruits while only having to pay a small price with sharp tongue.
B. That’s a great idea. Oh, there is another aspect that just crossed my mind. How
about planning and organizational abilities? I believe that one with tactical,
managing can always optimize the flow and structure of the business by a lot, no?
A. We already have a specific positions handle about those matters and beside its
hard to find people with such skills today...Say, this might be a bit controversial
but what about we set a standard for age and genders? Youngster can bring much
more energy and productivity.
B. I don’t agree with you. It’s important to focus on skills, experience and
capabilities of candidates rather than their age and gender. Recruitment decisions
should be based on merit and equal opportunities for all applicants.
A. So, we have discussed many requirements that successful candidates need to
have. Let’s decide on the top three important things.
B. I think the successful candidates need to have previous experience in a similar
