Through The Years

1999
•Okan University, one of the youngest and the most dynamic universities of
Turkey, was founded by Okan Culture, Education, and Sports Foundation in 1999
and began its academic life in 2003-2004.

2006
•Since the 2006-2007 academic year, the rapidly growing university has been
located in its new and modern Akfırat campus. Now, it reached 63
undergraduate, 41 master and 13 Ph. D. programs under eight faculties, two
vocational schools and three graduate schools.

University effectively combines theory and practice by employing an
academic staff who are experts in their own fields, adopting a

 Istanbul Okan University offers accommodation for 1500 students in our five fully
• equipped dormitories on our Tuzla Campus.

 Students can choose to stay in single, double or four person room. There are study
halls, TV rooms and a 24/7 medical center which are provided.
 Laundry and cleaning services are provided as well as bedding needs. There is wireless
internet connection in all the rooms provided for any needs and services for online
activities.
 The university campus also includes restaurants and cafeterias which serve breakfast,
lunch, and dinner. Dinner and sports facility fees are included in the price of the
dormitories.

 Turkey As The Destination

Foreign students can legally work in Turkey after obtaining a Student Residence Permit.
However, foreign students who are enrolled in undergraduate or two-year associate
programs can start working in Turkey only after completing their first year of study.
Part Time Jobs In Turkey

 Those reached in that country can apply for residence permit. The normal
time of issuance of residence permit is between 30 - 90 days time.
 It is recommended to learn the basic Turkish language to get a job easily
