Raja Ganesh was a powerful ruler of the Dinajpur region during the early 15th century. He initially accepted the overlordship of Sultan Ghiyasuddin Azam Shah, the ruler of Bengal. However, Raja Ganesh later rebelled against Azam Shah and seized control of the Dinajpur region. He defeated several armies sent by Azam Shah to defeat him. In 1415, Raja Ganesh switched his allegiance to the new ruler of Bengal, Ibrahim Shah Sharqi, and was recognized as the ruler of Dinajpur by him. Raja Ganesh established himself as an independent ruler and expanded his territories in northern Bengal.
