AsthecitizenrepresentativesdeliveringthepetitionarrivedatCountyExecutiveLeggetts officehisofficedoorswerelockedandtheCoalitionrepresentativeswereturnedawayunable tospeakwithanyoneinLeggettsoffice.Thisreceptionareaisnormallyopentothepublic. ButtheselawabidingcitizenswereintentionallylockedoutofLeggettsofficewithguards stationedatthedoor.Incontrast,LeggettmetpersonallywithMSItodiscusstheBrickyard projectmonthsbeforeitwasannouncedtothepublic. Insigningthepetition,thecitizensarereassertingtheirbeliefthatthesecretprocessthe Countyhasfollowedisimproperandillegal,andaredemandingthatanewandcompletely transparentprocessthatisincompliancewithCountylawbecommencedtodeterminethe bestusefortheBrickyardproperty. WearemakingafinalpublicefforttostopthisfatallyflawedprocesssaidKeithWilliams, PresidentofCARF.However,iftheCountyExecutiveproceedswiththisleasetoMSI,wewill havenochoiceexcepttocommencelegalaction TheCoalitionalsopointedoutissuesandproblemswiththeflawedMSIleaseinasubstantive commenttoCynthiaBrennemenasrequestedintheNotice. OnMarch28,2012,MontgomeryCountyExecutiveIsiahLeggettofficiallyawarded20acresof farmlandonBrickyardRoadtoMontgomerySoccer,Inc.theonlybidderontheprojectto developintofoursoccerfields.MSIwilldevelopthefieldsunderasubleasefromtheCounty. *End*
