What will my student learn this year?

Reading/Writing - We will be working on improving our writing in the 4 areas their papers will be graded on focus, organization, elaboration, and style. In reading we will focus on visualization and inference. Math In addition to reviewing and expanding on 3rd grade concepts, we will start division, adding and subtracting fractions, perimeter & area, graphs, and variables. Social Studies This year we will be studying Texas history and focusing on map skills. Science There are 4 units 4th graders study magnets & electricity, rocks & minerals, animals, and chemistry.

Students will have homework each night Monday Thursday. As a part of their homework, students will be asked to read for 20 minutes each night. Friday Folders
Each Friday a conduct sheet will be sent home in the Homework Folder or Binder containing recently graded work and a weekly behavior sheet. This sheet will show you

Behavior Policy

Supply List
These are items that we (the community) will need on the first day of school. The school supply pack and list have most of these items but some (*) arent listed and are needed. One 2 in binder Hand santizer Tissue 4 composition notebooks Colored pencils 1 pack of 20 lb white copy paper Please no personal pencil sharpeners! (They make messes in our desks and on our floors.)

Note: Through out the year we will ask for parents to restock paper towels, pencils and tissue (possibly copy paper).
