4/16Report

Goodmorning- Late last night theGovernor’s Panel report was released. The report which examines thetragedy and thelife of Seung Hui Cho is particularly painful in someareas. In light of the reportit would be easy for us to become disheartened or discouraged. Yet, allowme to bethe first to say to each of you that I remain proud of all of yourefforts to support our students, our families, the university and the communityat the time of the tragedy and afterward. Moving forward, we willrevampand enhance. There is always room for improvement. Yet, we must be mindfulof the fact that thelandscape and the prism are now very different than theywere on 4/15. As a team, wewillintensify ourefforts, create new models and hold our heads high through theprocess. My most heartfeltthanks to you for your commitment to the division and theuniversity.--ZLH Dr. Zenobia LawrenceHikesVice President forStudent AffairsVirginia PolytechnicInstitute and StateUniversity112 Burruss Hall(0250)Blacksburg, VA 24061(540) 231-6272(540) 231-3189 -fax
