    APPROVED: Captain Jeffrey Hertel FOR RELEASE: June 14, 2012 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION: Captain Jeffrey Hertel Phone: 456-3499 Fax: 456-4490 12-055520 HOMICIDE INVESTIGATED On Thursday, June 14, 2012, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Grand Rapids Police responded to the Oak Hill Cemetery, 647 Hall Street, SE, on the report of subject down. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male. The Kent County Medical Examiner was requested. The area of the cemetery was searched. A parked van was located in the cemetery unoccupied. On Thursday, June 14, 2012, an autopsy was performed on the victim. The victim was identified as Robert Louis Shields, male, DOB 8/9/1944. The cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
