SHOOTING/ MURDER ATTEMPT On Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 0440 a.m., the Grand Rapids Police Department responded to a report of 7 to 8 gunshots that had been fired on Sheldon Ave N/of Franklin St S.E. Officers arrived and located the victim with gunshot wounds to his abdomen. The victim was transported to St. Marys Hospital with life threatening injuries. Following surgery this morning the victim is in serious but stable condition. The victims identity is not being released at this time pending contact with relatives. Three (3) suspects, unknown clothing description, were all seen running south from the scene. The Grand Rapids Police Department Major Case Team is investigating.
