    HOMICIDE

    On August 2, 2011, at 1:30 am, the Grand Rapids Police responded to a shooting at 1019 Widdicomb NW, upstairs. They found that the victim had been shot multiple times as he answered knocking at his door. The victim was taken to Butterworth Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim is Gregory Lamont Heard with a DOB of 11/26/1984. There was another adult and two children in the apartment but they were not injured. A witness described seeing a younger Black Male flee from the scene south on Widdicomb to Eleventh. The b/m jumped into a White Dodge or Chrysler parked on Eleventh. The vehicle sped west on Eleventh and then south on Tamarack at a high rate of speed. The Grand Rapids Police Department Major Case Team is investigating.
