    A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Burton St and northbound 131 exit ramp in Grand Rapids on July 19, 2011 at around 10:15pm. The dark colored vehicle, possibly an older Lexus, hit the bicyclist while traveling west on Burton St, then fled the scene going west on Burton St. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with broken bones in his lower left leg and minor internal injuries, and is listed in stable condition. Police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash to contact them.

Bill Keiser Phone: 456-4282 Fax: 11-67706 SERIOUS INJURY HIT & RUN CRASH Grand Rapids Police responded to Burton St over 131 at approximately 2215 hours on Tuesday July 19, 2011 for a vehicle bicyclist crash. The bicyclist was crossing Burton St from south to north at the north bound 131 exit ramp. A dark colored vehicle possibly an older Lexis was traveling west on Burton St and struck the bicyclist. The striking vehicle fled the scene and was last seen going west on Burton St. No other information on the fleeing vehicle is available at this time. The bicyclist was transported to Saint Marys Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The bicyclist sustained multiple broken bones on his lower left leg and minor internal injuries. He is listed in stable condition. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact the Special Services Unit or Silent Observer.

    The crash remains under investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department Special Services Unit.
