UPDATE: HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

UPDATE
Detectives with the Springfield Police Department are seeking to identify these subjects in reference to
this morning’s homicide at 2900 E. South Grand Avenue. It is believed they have critical information
that would aid the police. Anyone with information regarding these individuals is asked to call the
Springfield Police Department at 217.788.8311 and/or Crime Stoppers at 217.788.8427.

Previous Release
Springfield, Illinois – On March 9, at approximately 4:10 a.m., officers from the Springfield Police
Department responded to the 2900 block of E. South Grand Avenue for a report of a shooting. Officers
located a male victim on scene with upper body injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. The victim
was transported to HSHS St. John’s Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as information becomes available.
