History:

2000 BTD to 0 ATD

The Iyes claim to be the firstborn. The original source from which all others
came. They and the history vids say that the Iyes came from the Galactic Core, maybe even
beyond it. According to Age of Beginnings, in the year 2000 BTD, the Iyes fled their home
system into open space. The reason remains unknown, though speculation suggests some natural
cause, such as low falling asteroids or famine.
While in space, away from a protected planetary atmosphere, the Iyes' genes began to mutate.
Well, unlock, to be precise. So-called “useless” DNA broke open and manifested itself in their
offspring. New traits and abilities appeared in those born in space, and over the course of only
1000 years eight distinct races painted names for themselves on the face of existence. How so
many appeared in such a short amount of time is still a mystery.
Marcel Opher, lead geneticist at Harkmen University on Delvy Station, puts it best. “We
don’t know how it happened, but that it just did, and very quickly. It’s like playing Druken Fizk
with all the chips still on the table. Same game, but much faster to complete."
It was now 1000 BGD and the multitude of beings had just passed through the ring of
light indicating the core's end. They were now in deep space, and the ten races were beginning to
realize that they weren't getting along as well as they used to. Most had already separated
themselves onto different ships and squads. One group, the Amans, became so distant from the
others that they took their ships and left. To where, no one knows. Still close enough to remain
together, the nine continued on, but quarrels became a constant issue. Who was in charge? Who
decided where to go, and when? These questions and more fueled the first Civil War. The Iyes
pushed unity under their guiding hand, but others wanted to rule themselves. Half went with the
Iyes, half did not. Ships were destroyed, lives were lost, supplies gone forever in the firefight that
ensued. Under the command of Hruss Prier, however, the Iyes managed to subdue and convince
the opposing side of the foolishness of separation and ended the war three weeks later.
0 AGD to Today (2028)
Another 1,000 years passed with relative peace until year 0 AGD, month three. The
Syers races had a unanimous vision. A vision about a power greater and more wonderful than
anything the universe could maintain. Anymore details about the vision are lost. But the vision
must have been a terror to behold. Every Syer went mad days later and committed mass suicide
by driving their ships into a nearby star. This tragic time in history is known as the Great Demise
and where our current dating system originates. BGT is before the Great Demise, AGD is after
the Great Demise.
After 1000 years of travel through uninhabitable systems and dead nebula the flotilla
came upon a few living worlds. These worlds are not part of Poseidon, but scattered trails that
eventually lead to the Eden Among Stars. Small groups decided to go to this planet or that, and it
is assumed that small colonies still exist on these backwater worlds.
Once Poseidon was reached in 1080 rapid colonization began. Each races wanted the best
worlds and the only way to claim them was to get there first, and an effective way to do that is to
stop or eliminate the competition.
This time in history is called the Settlement Relay. It was part race, part war, and
complete disarray. Even the Iyes were powerless against such chaos. Soon the leaders of each
races realized that if nothing was done they would all go extinct. A council of seven was held on
the central world of Poseidon’s core system. They presented plans for a ceasefire. After a week
of deliberations a tentative distribution and settlement plan was formed and signed by all
members. The Valdor were the most reluctant to sign since their designated system had the least
natural recourses and a vicious terrain, but given the circumstances it would be foolish disagree.
And so the first Aggregate council was held, and from there on out relative peace has cloaked
Poseidon space.
*Other notable battles
Elemari Civil War (1178 AGD)- Originally all the Elemari lived in the Opal
System with two races on each planet. It was peaceful for a while. But underneath the surface
tensions rose and kept on rising. Each race thought themselves superior to the others, and
eventually these ideals led to an all out war. The Aggregate intervened just in time to prevent
planetwide destruction. They decided to move the Aqualos and Terrans to another system several
LY away from Opal. With a few pushes and shoves the Elemari agreed. No wars have broken out
since.
Valdor Revolt (1114 AGD)- The decision of the Aggregate to give the Valdor
Golga was one made without their subject’s wholehearted consent. Few natural resources and a
lackluster environment meant the Valdor would have it rough. Initially they lived on tentative
terms with the idea until the planet started to get the best of them. The toughest of the tough have
their weaknesses, and the beasts of Golga were the Valdor’s. Many died beneath the jaws of
Phants and Galitors. The Aggregate didn’t seem to notice or care despite the flood of complaints.
So the Valdor did the only thing they knew how to do: fight. Not the beasts of Golga but the
Aggregate themselves. They began raiding nearby Duras Vi and a couple core systems that were
still being colonized. Zelc Mins, the Valdorian warlord at the time, believed that force is the only
language worthy of attention. He led battalions of ships and soldiers against the entire Omega
Vera region, an assault that lasted well over two years. It was only when the Aggregate used one
of the Valdor’s weapons against them did the revolt die.
Spies found plans in Zelc’s base to build a terrible gunship that could blow away moons.
He called it Behemoth. The plans were quickly given the Aggregate and within a few months a
smaller version of the ship emerged. It swiftly leveled Valdor land troops from above and
annihilated countless fighters and cruisers. The war’s last battle was fought above Zuvia’s
atmosphere. When Zelc saw his gunship in the hands of the enemy, he attempted a suicide run
into it with 1,000 fighters. The Incinerator destroyed half his troops and killed him in the process.
The others were taken down by support ships. The Battle of Zuvia effectively ended the Valdor
Revolt.
