Chapter II PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

This chapter provides the reason why there is a need for the student nurses to study the patients case which is Soft tissue avulsion and open joint injury after encountering a motorcycle accident. At the end of the presentation, the student nurses should be able to:

General Objectives:
Comprehend and recognize salient points that are necessary when

dealing with emergency patients who are brought to hospital immediately whenever road accidents happen; this is to enhance the students and other health care providers awareness, knowledge, and understanding of it in order to promote health, prevent more complications and help manage patients for faster recovery.

Specific Objectives: Present the introduction of the focused study; State the purpose of the study; Present the obtained initial database of the patient; Present the patients cephalocaudal assessment;

Determine the appropriate developmental task with the indicators

from the patient Identify the anatomy and physiology of the system involved

(MusculoSkeletal System); Trace the pathophysiology through an illustration and explanation; Interpret diagnostic tests done; Show the actual management through doctors order; Present the nursing care plan made for the patient; Include drug study and emphasize salient information on it.
