Monday
Editing workshop: Model with kids help how to edit the piece of writing. Kids then practise on their own copy. Then go on with handwriting practise in books and on paper.

Sound Lesson
Common initial blends str, spr, shr. Find a book that has some of these common blend words. Kids should listen for the blend. In small groups kids can list all the other words they know with these blends at the start. Can also use books.

Word Investigations (Spelling) Visual Lesson


ph visual pattern. Find a big book that has words with this visual pattern. Kids should look for the pattern and make a list of words where this visual pattern occurs. Get them to talk about where it occurs in words i.e. start, middle, end.

Meaning Lesson
Words with common meaning, eg two, twice, twice, twins, twenty. Brainstorm some words like this. In small groups kids can make up their own.
