Fullertons Friday Newsletter

September 14th, 2012
This week in reading we read Mrs. Brown went to Town. This was a funny story about a lady who lives in her barn with her animals and what they do when she is out of town. Before reading the story the students made book covers of what they predicted the story would be about based only on the title. Students also made silly sentences using action words from the story. In Social Studies we started learning about different types of communities (Urban, Suburban, and Rural). This week we also took the math portion of the MAP test. The students worked really hard and did a great job. In Math we worked on subtraction strategies and continued working on memorizing doubles facts. The students have really enjoyed Rocket Math. Please be sure your child is doing a Rocket Math page every week night (Monday through Thursday nights). If they misplace their paper, or brought the wrong one home to work on you can print out a copy for them from the website so they will be ready to go the next day. There are several students who already have 3 or more missing homework assignments. Please sign their planner every night and check their homework folder to see that they have completed all of their work and have it in the Homework folder to turn in the next morning. Have a great weekend! Ms. Fullerton
