Committee: UNICEF Topic: Universal Nutrition and Healthcare for Children Background Introduction: The nutrition and the

health of the children of the entire world is one of the most important issues that concern people of all ages and social status. We need to solve this problem as fast as we can because children are the future of our world. Universal healthcare usually refers to a system which provides health care and financial protection to all its citizens. It is organized around providing a specified package of benefits to all members of a society with the end goal of providing financial risk protection, improved access to health services, and improved health outcomes. Universal health care is not a one-size-fits-all concept; nor does it imply coverage for all people for everything. Universal health care can be determined by three critical dimensions: who is covered, what services are covered, and how much of the cost is covered. Children have the right to an adequate standard of living, health care, education and services, and to play and recreation. These include a balanced diet, a warm bed to sleep in, and access to schooling. Over ten percent of all U.S. households, representing 20 million adults and 13 million children, are "food insecure" due to a lack of financial resources. Many of these families cant afford to provide good breakfasts at home every day nor the money to buy them at school.
