Narrative for PowerPoint Project State Standards Addressed 8.3.1.B: Identify American landmarks and their significance. Who is your Audience? Where and what do you teach? What will they have learned or should be able to do prior to this activity?
They will already know that they live in the United States of America. They know they live in the Northeastern part of the United States. They should be able to locate Pennsylvania on a map. The students will maneuver through the PowerPoint by choosing where Pennsylvania is located and take a journey to Philadelphia to see two well know landmarks. By the end of this lesson, they should be able to name the two landmarks located in Philadelphia. For students to become familiar with some of the major landmarks located in their home-state. The PowerPoint is part of the Practice section of the lesson plan. Students will work independently by exploring through the PowerPoint to expand their knowledge on Pennsylvania landmarks. I will know they understand the landmarks in Pennsylvania by having them draw a picture of both landmarks. Assuming that all the children remember or are comfortable enough with using a computer.
