HASSAN BASRI For the assignment, I need to do a coursework regarding teaching reading skills. I have to the assignment in pair work and I am in the same group with Gan Greena Liza. For sub task 1, I have to prepare a graphic organizer based on 8 source information on reading articles. I face some problem to identify the main issue of the articles because I need to compact all the information in one graphic organizer and it is really challenge my thinking skills. I realize that I must not repeat the same issue because it will lead to the same ideas in my graphic organizers. So, I need to do a lot of discussion with my partner. Having read the different articles about the teaching reading skills, made me realised that I still lack of knowledge. By doing this assignment, I have slightly developed my understanding in teaching learning activities and it helps me a lot in completing the task. I remember agonizing over what to write down and how to organize the tasks. As time passed by, I am making progress by making some discussion and research for this assignment. For the lesson plan task, preparing it for the KSSR is really new for me because I dont have any experience in teaching them. I realize that I need to do a lot of research and discussion and reading those articles really help me. For the topic, I and my partner decide to use poem as reading material .We choose Kitty, the dirty cat as the poem for the draft but after deep discussion and suggestion from the lecturer we get a lot of ideas for the better planning of the lesson plan So, we decided to change it to The Cook poem and we find it is more interesting for the students. We also choose activities that encourage collaborative learning and focus more on hands on and minds on activities. By doing this assignment, I know that me as a teacher is an important agent in providing the conducive environment to the classroom. The personality, attitude and

teaching style can increase students interest in learning. As the next step, I will try to apply the new ideas and change the way I run my classroom for the benefit of my students. So, it

is not always easy but I need to keep trying. Once children are familiar with the new environment, things will improve fast.
