Scotmid Torphins

As part of their Framework Agreement with Scotmid, CBES have concluded extensive Renovation and Fit-out works at one of Scotmids New Flagship Stores in Torphins, Aberdeenshire. This Grade B listed building was built in 1905 in the village of Torphins. Originally serving as a Free Church it was, until recently, used as a furniture store before it was obtained by Scotmid to be converted into the new village convenience store. CBES undertook works Including: Entrance lobby (bell tower) refurbishment Formation of lift plant room & stock areas Installation of goods lift Formation of staff room and colleague area Installation of WC and disabled WC New electrics supply throughout Formation of delivery access New bakery preparation area Existing windows retained and repaired Basement floor repairs Installation of new ventilation system Installation of refrigeration systems Disabled access ramp formation Roof repairs Being such a bespoke setting and not one in which you would naturally find a convenience store, Scotmid and CBES worked closely to ensure that the equipment and layout complimented the surroundings where possible. In order to ensure the sensitive and careful integration of new elements into the building refrigerationcabinets with full glass doors were chosen which emphasise the natural light within the building and help to retain the character of the church.
