Happy Birthday October Gals!

Dearest Sisters,
Well, its like I never left! Isnt it amazing how quickly we
get back into the groove of things? I am back to school and 6
weeks have already flown by!
Can you believe it is already October!? Fall is here.
Someone should call Mother Nature to let her know since its been
incredibly hot in our parts. I actually ran my a/c for the first time in
years. Its crazy!
This weather does remind me about how we have control
over so little and that in the grand scheme of the universe we are so
small. This is exactly why we have to step up and continue to make
our chapter grow and flourish! WE have the power to make the
world around us a better place! WE have control over our time and
allocating it to good purpose. WE might be small, but we are a
force to reckon with. WE are Beta Delta Force! !
Each of us takes on the day with the challenge to be at our
best, to do what is best for others, and to create a day worth
remembering. None of us wakes up hoping for a bad day.
EVER! The universe is ours to take on, no matter how small we
are. It is up to US to live life to the fullest, to tell people around us
how grateful we are to have them in our life, and ultimately, to not
take any moment for granted- as they are all borrowed. I
challenge each of you to look around and see if you have a future
Beta Delta sister in your midst. And invite them to come see us!

Grateful for each of YOU,
Christina

There are 10 Statewide
Propositions on the California
Ballot in November. The
following are ones that are of
particular interest to Chi State
members.

**Prop 30-- It would increase
income taxes on Californians
earning more than $250,000 for a
seven year period and increase sale
taxes for all Californians by 1/4
cent for four years. If passed,
estimates are Prop 30 would raise
$6 billion annually for K-12
schools and community colleges.

Supporters say: It would prevent
deep school cuts; guarantee local
safety and help balance the state
budget.

Supporters: Gov. Jerry Brown,
CTA, CA State Sheriff's Assn and
League of Women Voters.
**Prop 35--It would increase
prison sentences and fines for
anyone convicted of human
trafficking--the illegal trade of
human beings for sex slavery
or forced labor.
Prison sentences
would increase to 15 years to
life and fines up to 1.5 million.

Supporters: CTA, CA State
Highway Patrol, CA State
Sheriff's Assn.
**Prop 38--It would raise
personal income taxes on
Californians earning more than
$7312 per year to fund K-12
schools, childhood programs and
repay the CA debt.
The amount of tax increase
ranges from 0.4 percent to 2.2
percent for the highest earners.

Supporters Say: It will raise $10
billion each year to go to school
sites--not district offices. The
funds can't be used to increase
salaries or pensions. Prohibits
spending more than 1% raised
to go to administration.

Supporters: California State
