3. Sequence valve with internal signal input It is the job of the sequence valve with internal signal input to releasethe fluid flow to a further load as soon as the pressure at the first load has reached a given level, e.g. the piston has reached its stroke limit. A pressure-relief valve with loadable output can be used for such pressure-dependent sequence controlyDirectly operated spool-type versions1 can be usedfor this purpose, as can pilot-controlled pressure-relief valves with external control-oil drain in which the output pressure does not adversely affect the pressure set at the spring. The designation "sequence valve with internal signal input" refers to this particular application of a suitable pres sure-relief valve. It does not necess arily represent an additional variant in the line of pressure-control valves. The pressure conditions before and after the sequence valve can be seenfrom the diagram.

4. Sequence valve with external signal input 4.1 Function and graphical symbol The task of this valve corresponds to that of a hydraulically operated 2/2 directional-control valve with closed initial position, e.g. a connection is opened as soon as a given external control pressure has been reached. The control pressure is adjustable, as can be seen from the graphic symbol. Using these valves, pressure-dependent sequence controls between two separate circuits can be realised for instance.
